Stay True to Your Essence: My Journey into the World of Miniature Art
Hey Craft Crew,
Welcome to Artistry Den! I'm C, a crafter who enjoys miniatures, Barbie dolls, and travel.
C. Crafting
Travel inspires my miniature creations.
On each visit to a new place, I enjoy learning about a new culture and try to incorporate the knowledge gained into my miniatures.
I love the process of completing a crafting project and prefer to take my time. Patience is required for crafting, especially when it comes to miniatures. Breathing is another necessity. I intend to show up and share my successful creations and failures with you. I enjoy teaching and learning and hope you will find my content valuable and entertaining. Let me be honest: I have had a website domain for Artistry Den since 2021. "Why are you just publishing blogs?" you might ask. I have had a YouTube channel for Artistry Den since 2022. You might ask, "Why are you just sharing a long content video?" Trust me; I ask myself "why" every day, and the answer is crippling imposter syndrome. In every other aspect of my life, I am confident. However, when it comes to my craft, I am paralyzed by fear and perfectionism. The age-old question "Is my work good enough?" swirls around in my brain morning, noon, and night. The other component is that I defeat my effort before I even start by thinking, "I will not have enough time to finish while working a full-time job." So, it’s still 2024, and here's my promise: I will stay true to my essence.
I traveled to Japan a few years ago, and that experience reignited my interest in miniatures.
Japan is a country for miniaturists!
I had a chance to visit Japan for more inspiration in June 2024. It was a magical experience.
Upon coming home, I watched a few YouTube channels featuring miniatures and stumbled upon My Froggy Stuff. I remembered how much I loved Barbie when I was young. Have you ever traveled with a Barbie? I have, and it is interesting (pics in future blogs). I will share more information about my rediscovery of miniatures and Barbie in another post.
I desire to engage with other crafters over the internet by sharing my work through artistryden.com, YouTube, Pinterest, Instagram, and TikTok. My determination to get to know other crafters and advance my crafting abilities will lead me to create more content and blog posts. That's it - no fancy vision board, no list of goals, and no negative talk about what I did not accomplish in 2023. However, I will have an objective to upload content over the next year. I promise to be a transparent, honest, funny, engaging, and kind human who wants to connect with you. If you want to connect with me online, consider signing up for my newsletter and leaving a comment below. Let me know how you plan to stay true to your essence.
I wouldn't say I like to plan, but I realize my crafting goes much more smoothly when I take the time to prepare. Instead of sharing a list of projects, I am going to give you an idea about the types of crafts I have rolling around my head. I love giving handcrafted gifts to friends and family and have a fairy garden for a flowerpot and a Barbie 1:6 scale college dorm room in the works. I intend to create a treehouse for my neglected plants to inspire me to pay them more attention. I have two Ikea Flisat dollhouses I would like to begin working on - one will be modern, and the other will be inspired by mid-century American architecture. Every summer, I visit my mother, and while there, I will continue working on the cardboard dollhouse I started as a project after viewing Bentley House Mini's creation. As we move into the spooky and winter holiday season, I plan on having some themed miniature creations.

My ideas are just "ideas," not set in stone. I want to enjoy crafting without placing unnecessary pressure on myself. My promise to you is that I will do my best.
I look forward to sharing my love of miniatures, Barbie, and travel with you. If you want to follow my miniature adventures, please sign up for my newsletter so you are alerted when I post new content. If you are not, thank you for reading. That's all for now, take care of yourself, and you will hear from me soon. Cheers to the beginning!
Now, create something!
Love,
Chanda
